CARBON STEEL SPECIFICATION:
These products are available in most diameters, from 1/2 to 42 inch generally. Carbon steel spectacle blinds are manufactured out of a single piece of steel, whereas alloy / stainless steel blinds can be manufactured by welding more pieces together (generally up to three). This type of flange would require an additional gasket when it is installed. Also, the bolts used to fasten these flanges will need to be lengthened depending on what piping class and size blind is used. The thickness of the Spectacle Flange Pressure Rating is specified based on the line pressure and pipe size.
